Install Composer PHP Dependency Manager in Windows.
In modern php applications we handle dependency management with tools like composer. Composer is a php dependency manager and will look after your current applications dependencies as far as installing and updating them.
So head over to the composer website at getcomposer.org and click on the download button to go to the downloads page. Maybe take a look at the “Getting Started” and “Documentation” pages to get a little more in depth information on the tool.
Once on the downloads page look for the Composer-Setup.exe link and click on it. Download and run Composer-Setup.exe – it will install the latest composer version.
Once downloaded run the installer and choose the defaults. It should not take long to install. After installation is complete you can test if it is working by going to a command prompt and typing composer -v and enter. You should see the composer logo and a listing of all the commands.
Now you can use composer to install dependencies for any php applications that you create and there is also an easy way to get a laravel project installed. Just type
and if all goes well you should get a fresh install of laravel. Check out my youtube channel pfvmedia where you can find install videos for php, composer and laravel including some errors that you may get along the way.
